New Christmas Pals

Tobey made some new pals this week. On Sunday he befriended a kitty cat. We traveled to East Texas to celebrate Christmas with some of Rodney's family and they had a new kitten. She loved hanging out underneath the tree and that is where Tobey spent most of his time. I am glad that he doesn't know how to ask for a kitty cat yet because it would not be fun telling him no. Then last night he met Santa Claus. This is the first year we have taken him to see Santa. I was a little hesitant on the whole thing because I was afraid he was just going to cry and refuse to go near Santa. When we were the next ones in line I asked him if he was ready to see Santa and he said Yeah! very exuberantly. When it was his turn he took off running. I think the stuffed reindeer standing in front of Santa really helped. Although, once we set him up on Santa's knee he froze and refused to smile for the photographer. But he never cried. He is such a big boy. He saw a stuffed Santa today at Hobby Lobby and he ran up and hugged it. I can't wait for his first Christmas after Jesus becomes his pal. I am praying for that day already!

Love Thy Neighbor, Part II

The basket of goodies for my sweet neighbor and her husband was delivered today. It was filled with all kinds of goodies. Brownies, butter scotch haystacks, blizzard party snack mix, and yummy oatmeal cookies. I got the recipe for butterscotch haystacks from Amanda and the oatmeal cookies from Sunni. They were both delicious. Thankfully there was a little bit of each left over for us to enjoy. It has been a wet and cold day. The rain slowed down for a little bit this afternoon so we walked our basket over. Mae was not home but we got to visit with her husband for a little bit while Tobey invaded their living room. Oh, the curiosity of a toddler.

This was definitely a highlight of my week. Our neighbors are so kind and gracious and it felt wonderful to give back to them. Other highlights of the week include a birthday dinner on Monday night with three of my closest friends from high school. We all met at Pei Wei and it was delicious as always.

On my actual birthday we just hung around the house. My man ended up being home all day so I had my two most favorite people with me all day long. We didn't do anything special. In fact, all three of us stayed in our pajamas until late in the afternoon. That evening we decided to venture out for groceries and grab a bite to eat. We called our good friends Greg and Rebecca at the last minute and they joined us for some On the Border. It was so nice to catch up with them and enjoy some good laughs. Another highlight of the week included a weight check at the pediatrician's office. I am thrilled to say that my boy is back on the charts and we don't have to go back to the doctor for a checkup until he is three. Yay! And lastly I was back to part-time work this week. The prior two weeks I had picked up extra shifts equivalent to working full-time and I was so drained. Plus, my house went neglected and the laundry went neglected during those two weeks. I was able to get everything back in order this week so that was a highlight too! And finally the highlight of my life. Tobey has learned how to cheese it big time. He does it mostly at random times but usually when he is doing something he knows that he is not supposed to be doing or when we ask him to show us his teeth. The only time he refuses to show that big beautiful grin is for a posed picture. After days of trying to record that big cheese in a photograph, I finally caught him with cereal on our bed and he turned on the charm and the cheese!

The Perfect Gift

My birthday is coming up this next week. I will be 29 and I have decided this is going to be a great year. I will not be filled with dread and despair as I approach the big 3-0. It is going to be a good, no a great year! Rodney decided that we would celebrate my birthday today just in case he has to be out of town on his actual birthday. He arranged for his sister to babysit for us and made a list of restaurants for me to choose from. I was torn between Perry's which I have heard very good things about and Gloria's. I chose Gloria's at the last minute and was not disappointed. I love fried plaintains and make them often for myself at home but they were so good at Gloria's. I also got a tamale and a pupusa which is basically a handmade tortilla with pork and cheeses stuffed inside. It was all delicious. I really wanted to try the flan but I was too full and I opted out instead. But I will have to go back and try it sometime. We then preceded to Northpark mall and window shopped for a little while and then went to the movies. It has been so long since we have been able to go to dinner and a movie. It was quite lovely and relaxing and wonderful. We saw August Rush and I thought it was very good even though it did not receive great reviews. As a parent who is totally in love with her child I was drawn to the storyline and the beauty of the bond between a mother and her son and how they find each other again through music. The music was pretty awesome too. Afterwards we bought some gelatto and strolled back to the car. It has been a most perfect day. Earlier in the day I got to open my birthday presents and had the biggest birthday surprise ever. I actually already knew one of the things Rodney had bought me because I received an email last week telling me about a shipment sent out to our house from Target. Naturally I opened it because it was my email. Apparently Rod had ordered this gift from Target under my account so the email got sent to my address. He went into my account and deleted the first email but Target sent another one when the item actually shipped which is the email I opened. Well it was a spice rack which is great because I really need one for the pantry but I have to admit I was a little disappointed. However, Rodney hinted around that there was something else too. So I opened up the spice rack first and patiently twiddled my thumbs while we oohed and ahhed over it's amazing features. It really is going to organize the spices milling around in my pantry. And then the moment came. He asked me to close my eyes and sternly said "no peeking". Well, I started giggling like a little girl because i just couldn't help myself. Part of me thought that I might be getting a new vacuum cleaner because I have been complaining a little (alot) about the tired and worn out one we have had since we got married. So with my eyes closed and no peeking he led me out to the sunroom and this is what I saw....

and this is what I did...

I knelt down and laid hands on my new pottery wheel and started sobbing. My husband blew me away this year with the perfect gift. I have wanted a wheel for a really long time but they are quite expensive so we never pursued getting one. I did bid for one on ebay but I lost. I never expected that this is what he got me for my birthday and I was so wonderfully surprised. I took ceramics the last three years of high school and I loved it. I was not great at it by far but I made some really nice pieces and entered a few in an art show my senior year. I was the girl walking around with dried clay on my jeans but I didn't care because it was something I really enjoyed. After high school I took several classes in college also. I even toyed with the idea of majoring in ceramics but it just didn't seem practical at the time so I went for nursing instead which is very practical. As much as I love my job as a neonatal nurse there are times that I regret that I didn't pursue an art degree. I often wonder where that road would have taken me. Once I started nursing school I stopped doing pottery because I was too busy and I didn't have the resources since I wasn't in a ceramics class anymore. And the rest is history as the saying goes. I haven't touched clay since. But I have always dreamed of having my own little studio where I could make pieces for fun or even enter into a craft fair or something. But like I said it is kind of expensive to get started so it was just one of those dreams of mine that I didn't expect to happen anytime soon. It is not just a pottery wheel but the beginning of a fulfilled dream and that is why it is the most perfect gift.

Mandisa

It is amazing how God can speak so directly to our hearts through other people. My sweet friend Janelle invited me to a Mandisa concert at her parent's church this past week. I had heard of Mandisa but only through Janelle. She was a finalist on the 5th season of American Idol which I did not consistently watch. So I did not see the famous episode where she sang Shackles but I have seen it live now which is even better. I honestly did not know much about her. She gave a little bit of her testimony throughout the concert and I was so inspired by her courage and her faith. And yes that girl can sing! But she didn't just sing for us, she worshipped with us and ministered to our hearts. I brought my mother-in-law with me and I heard several amens escape her lips. Mandisa said so many good things and I wish I had brought my journal to write them all down. I tried to remember the little tidbits of wisdom that poured from her mouth but by the time I got home I could only remember a few. Maybe they are the ones that God wants me to hold onto. The first one had to do with her struggle with weight. I may not struggle on the same level as she does but I still have so many insecurities when it comes to my weight especially those 10 marriage pounds and 10 baby pounds I am holding onto. As much as I want to lose that weight I feel defeated most of the time and I feel less than beautiful most of the time. She said that when she is faced with a craving for food that is not caused by hunger that she tells herself that this cannot fill her up the way that Jesus can. She may be satisfied for a little while but only Jesus can satisfy us completely. Amen! I know this in my heart but it was so refreshing to hear someone else be so honest about their own struggles. She also talked about praising God for what he has done in our lives and how she could have turned out so differently if Christ had not changed her. I am sure every Christian relates to this but it is so true for me. Jesus changed my life and has blessed me with so much. When I think about my family and where I have come from, I know that Christ is the only reason, the only thing that sets me apart from members of my family that are struggling right now. She just beautifully expressed herself and her thoughts and God used her to minister to my heart. He is so good like that and I declare His praises!

"But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a people belonging to God, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light." 1 Peter 2:9

Rocking Around the Christmas Tree

We put up our Christmas tree this past week. It was lots of fun this year because Tobey was able to help. I bought him his first set of ornaments. They are Sesame Street characters and he was very excited to hang them on the tree. He kept taking them off and rehanging them. We also lost a few of our glass ornaments when Tobey tried to hang a few. We quickly decided that the more delicate ornaments should hang up high and the more durable ones down below.

This is one of my favorite times of the holiday season. I love opening up our ornament box and reminiscing over the ones we have collected since we got married. I love unique ornaments and ornaments that tell a story about our lives and where we have been. Here are a few of my favorites!

I always think about our first year together, our little cozy apartment, and our first tree.

We bought this ornament while on our honeymoon in St. Thomas which was the start of a tradition. Now whenever we travel someplace we look for an ornament as a souvenir.

We traveled to Alaska with Rodney's whole family in tow so that I could be in my friend's wedding. Three weeks before we left I broke my arm playing softball. I felt horrible so I got a red cast to match my bridesmaid dress in hopes of not standing out as that girl in the wedding with the broken arm. I think it worked. My bouquet of flowers helped out also. That was a really great trip. After I finished up with wedding stuff we had several days to enjoy Alaska. We went on a day cruise to see glaciers and it was so amazing. We also became very familiar with the puffin which is the state bird of Alaska. They are the coolest little birds. They actually can dive under the water and when you see them from above it looks like they are flying under the water. Well I fell in love with the puffin. I would have brought one home to Texas if I could have but I had to settle for an ornament instead.

The ornament that symbolizes the greatest blessing in our marriage. We started our new life together as two....

...and now we are three. Sometimes I miss those care-free and spontaneous days when it was just the two of us. Life was definitely easier and less stressful. But I wouldn't trade anything for my little family or the overwhelming joy I feel when all three of us are together.

Oh how we love us some Mavs! Your tree is not complete unless it is decorated with a Dallas Mavericks ornament.

And finally my most favorite ornament of all. Honestly I can't even remember where it came from. I think it was one of those ornament gift exchanges at a Sunday School Christmas party. I'm not sure but I absolutely love this ornament. The picture does not do it justice. It is a handpainted water color of the nativity scene and it is just beautiful especially when the lights from the tree bounce off of it.

And that is how we rock around the tree in our house!

**Update** My bad! I just found out that the state bird of Alaska is not the puffin. But it should be. Those birds are everywhere in Alaska. Plus they are much cuter than the willow grouse.

The effects of Turkey Day on a Toddler

Rodney's Aunt just emailed this to me. I had to share a visual of my tired boy sleeping at the dinner table Thanksgiving night.

Thanksgiving Recreation

Well the food was delicious and I stuffed myself silly. What more can I say? I have had my fill of turkey, stuffing and pecan pie. I am thinking Mexican food for Christmas. After the feast we headed outside into the frigid air. There was a serious game of yard darts going on. Tobey rode his 4-wheeler around Mimi's & Pawpaw's field. After about 45 minutes of this, he crawled into his red wagon, laid down, and snuggled up with a quilt. After he warmed up he decided he wanted to race. This is his new thing at Mimi's & Pawpaw's house. He stands against the fence on one side of the field and waits for your cue, "ready-set-go", and then he dashes off to the opposite side of the field. This time he had an opponent, his cousin Skylar, and she smoked him. He didn't seem to mind that he kept getting beat by a girl. He just kept running with a look of glee on his face. After we wore ourselves out with yard games, we went inside and warmed up with dessert and apple cider. Then we lounged around and watched the game. It was a perfect day, weather and all. We actually had some wintry mix blow through. Maybe it's a sign of snow for Christmas. That would be so cool!

Tobey and the 4-wheeler that travels 2 mph. Yet he will sit on it and just ride around in circles.

Yard darts. I had never played before and it is actually quite challenging. The goal is to throw a dart and try to stick it in a small circle about 30 feet away. I almost made it once.

Tobey playing around with his Auntie

Snuggling up in the red wagon

Ready, Set, Go!

Tobey's look of dismay at the wintry mix!

I left the festivities around 5pm and headed home to get ready for work. My house was so empty and quiet. I was able to sit down and have some quiet reflection with God that I so desperately needed. My younger brother called me this week and he laid some pretty heavy stuff on my heart. How thankful I am for my own salvation and for the word of God. Honestly without the word of God I could not have gotten through this phone call without caving in. I know this is pretty vague but it is just too personal for me. But I will say that my brother's soul is in torment and Satan has such a grip on his mind that he is blind to the truth. He is in such denial and my heart is breaking for him. I am going to call and talk with him again soon. Will ya'll just pray. That I will stand firm in the word, that my brother's eyes will be opened to the truth, and that God will move in mighty ways and change my brother's thinking. Thanks so much!

So on a lighter note........

I called home from work to check on Tobey Thanksgiving night and Rodney told me that he was so tired that he fell asleep at the dinner table. All that racing wore my little guy out!

The Eve of Anticipation

The eves of holidays are all about anticipation aren't they? On Christmas Eve we anticipate the arrival of Christmas morning and finally opening those presents that have been sitting under the tree for weeks. On New Year's Eve we anticipate the arrival of a new year and a new beginning. And then there is Thanksgiving Eve. The sweet anticipation of a heavenly feast. My stomach is growling righ now but I refuse to eat. I have to save room for all the delicious food I will eat tomorrow. My house is filled with the aroma of sweet pecans. I am in the process of baking two pecan pies that I will take to work with me tomorrow night. Yes, I have to work on Thanksgiving night since hospitals never shut down even for holidays. But my coworkers and I are having a wonderful feast. So I will have Thansgiving twice. Once tomorrow at noon and then again twelve hours later at mignight. That is the time I usually eat dinner on nights that I have to work. So tonight I will let my stomach growl in anticipation of stuffing myself silly tomorrow. I was over at my Mother-in-law's house tonight helping her prepare for tomorrow and my mouth was watering at all the good food she was making. She is the best cook and I have learned so much from her through the years. Although my versions of her recipes never turn out quite as good as hers. Today she let me help with the stuffing and it smelled so delicious. I can't wait until I taste it tomorrow.

I want to share a very easy recipe for Frozen Fruit Salad that has been passed down to us from my hubby's Memaw. When we got married she gave us a cookbook and on one of the pages she wrote this recipe down and titled it as one of my husband's favorites. At the next holiday gathering this dessert dish was missing. When everyone wondered aloud where it was she bluntly stated that she no longer would be making this but that Rodney and I had the recipe and we would do it from now on. Well okay! We have tried to live up to it because it is something of a tradition. While I was preparing my pecan pies tonight, Rodney made the Frozen Fruit Salad. It really is yummy and super easy so I thought I would share. This is my first time to post a recipe so here it goes.

Frozen Fruit Salad:

Ingredients-
1 package of cream cheese (10 oz)
1 package of frozen strawberries (10 oz)
1 large carton of cool whip (8 oz)
1 large can of crushed pineapple
3/4 cup of sugar
1 cup chopped nuts (we prefer pecans)

Mix cream cheese and sugar and then add all the other ingredients. Line two loaf pans with foil and pour mixture into them. Then freeze overnight. You can also use one large loaf pan and fill it completely instead of two loaf pans. It just takes longer to freeze.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Love Thy Neighbor

I think I must have the sweetest neighbors a young mother could ask for. Since we moved into our house 5 years ago( my goodness that doesn't seem right) Mae and her sweet card playing husband Tubby (I don't know his real name) have been nothing less than true neighbors. For starters we share a driveway that runs between our houses. We have a pecan tree that hangs right over this driveway and it has been dropping pecans for several months now. And I in my laziness have been simply driving and crunching over the pecans ever since. One day I looked out the window and saw Mae sweeping up the pecans and I felt very guilty. Mae is not a young woman. I think it would be a safe bet to say that she is in her seventies or even early eighties. And here she was sweeping the driveway. Later when I drove down the smooth and pecan-free driveway I felt even more guilty.. A couple of days later the pecans had piled up again and I heard a little knock on our side door and it was Mae. She said " Cassi, do you want these pecans?" (Imagine this in a slightly southern, high pitched, and raspy voice). I said very respectfully" No Ma'am, I need to sweep them up again, Thank you for doing it earlier this week ". She replied " That's okay, do you mind if I take them and use them for some pecan butter". I was greatly relieved that she was not put out with us and our returning mass of pecans. I said " Of course take as many as you want".

Later that evening Tobey and I were returning from a walk and he saw Mae up ahead on the sidewalk. He wiggled his tiny hand from mine and ran to her with his arms outstretched. She immediately opened her arms and gave him a tight embrace and said "How are you little Cody". Sometimes she calls him by his rightful name and sometimes he is Cody or Colby. I don't have the heart to correct her so I just go with it. As I get near them I notice that Mae's pockets are bulging and sagging and she has a palmful of pecans in her hands. I am immediately taken with a vision of my own grandma with handfuls of pecans that she collected while strolling around her yard. This is why Mae is so endearing to me. Since we first met I have been drawn to her because she reminds me of my grandma in so many ways. We chat for a few minutes and then we each head to our separate houses. She yells over her shoulder "Thanks for the pecans and I will have to bring over a pecan pie sometime". Oh yes please do!

Mae has been a wonderful neighbor in other ways too. She was very encouraging during the years before I got pregnant. She was one of the few that I opened up to about our difficulties in getting pregnant. She always had a kind word and simple words of wisdom that I took great comfort in. The week we brought Tobey home from the hospital she stopped by with a gift. It was a homemade cloth book. Now I don't know if she made it or bought it at a garage sale. I didn't ask but it was the most perfect gift that could have come from her because she is homemade all the way. Let me paint a small picture of Mae. She runs a fresh fruit and vegetable market here in our town. She has the most beautiful flowers in her yard and she sets buckets around her house to collect rain water to water these beautiful flowers. She is a faithful recycler. She even has a compost pile in her backyard. She has a clothesline and she hangs "everything", I mean "everything" out to dry. She used to do all the yardwork too but she finally broke down and hired someone to take care of the yard. Oh, and she has a pet turtle and a pet rabbit. How can you not love this woman and be inspired by her resourcefulness?

That day she came over to see Tobey for the first time she told us that if we ever needed her to babysit or sit with Tobey while we ran to the store that she would be around. She has repeated that several times over the last two years. Tobey was over a year old before I took her up on her offer. There have been several times that I have taken the baby monitor over to her while Tobey was napping. She would listen out for him so I could make a quick dash to the grocery store. She even kept him one afternoon so that I could go to a conference at church. This morning I got home from work to find her sitting in our living room reading a newspaper. Rodney had to leave so that he could catch his flight and he had asked her to come sit for about thirty minutes until I got home. She did not hesitate. She is that kind of neighbor and I do love her dearly. As the holidays approach I am looking forward to our neighborly tradition. We have a basket that we fill up with goodies and treats to give each other. Whoever was the last to recieve the basket is the first to intiate the gift giving the next year. If anybody has some yummy holiday recipes feel free to post them in a comment. I want to make the basket extra special and yummy this year for a neighbor who is easy to love and deserving of some lavish holiday treats.

The Sheriff is in Town

Tobey was a cowboy for Halloween or more specifically a Sheriff. He was a cutie. He actually kept his hat on all night and I was very proud. We met up with some friends and went trick or treating at a few houses and then headed over to our church's fall carnival. We had a blast but I was worn out. I know Tobey was too. He had a meltdown in the middle of the gym floor when he came out of a bounce house and didn't understand that he had to wait in line to go back in. He and his daddy went into the big kid's obstacle course and had lots of fun. It was crazy though. Kids running everywhere. Tobey saw his Aunt Libby and gave her lots of love. I handed him over to her after the gym meltdown. I looked over at them later and he had his cheek pressed next to hers. It was so sweet. I wish I had taken a picture.

The Mac is back

I cannot express how excited I was to sit down in front of our Mac computer last night. I immediately downloaded all of our pictures from the last week and a half. There were over two hundred. And I was able to fix the picture problem on my pumpkin patch post. The office is almost finished. There are still some finishing touches left to do. I was amazed at the work my husband accomplished this week. He is such a handyman. I am so blessed. Here are a few pictures of his handiwork. I just want to point out to you that he made these closet doors himself. And he did get the new flooring in. I was a good wife and stayed out of his way except for those times he asked for my help.

While the hubs was busy working on the office, I was busy trying to stay out of his way and keep a little boy out of his way. When daddy is around, Tobey tends to migrate to where ever he is in the house. Plus he was fascinated with all of daddy's big tools. Which was fine at times but it is hard to work when a toddler is up in your stuff. So Tobey and I tried to stay busy. Thankfully the weather was beautiful this week and we were able to get outside alot. We made trips to the park, went to the zoo with Ava and jackson, and went on a road trip. It was a busy week but lots o' fun. We drove up to Oklahoma on friday afternoon to spend the night with Nana (my mom). Tobey was getting a cold and his asthma also flared up that afternoon. I just brought his nebulizer along and gave him his respiratory treatments at my mom's house. It was so nice to know what to do this time. He was better the next day but still has some congestion. We had a good time hanging out with my family. It had been a while since I had spent the night with my mom. We ate dinner at the house and watched a movie. On Saturday we met up with my sister-in-law and went to this neat little park on the outskirts of town. I was able to snap some really good pictures of Tobey with his cousins. My brother and his wife have really had some struggles over the last five years but they are doing so well right now. Praise God! I pray that they can stay on the right track. They have three kids. Maddie is the oldest and just beautiful. Logan is the middle child and wild, wild, wild. Sean is only six weeks old and adorable. I got to cuddle with him lots and he made me want another one. Yikes! Tobey was very curious about him also. He kept playing with his little feet.

Technical difficulties

Okay I don't know what is going on with my pictures in my pumpkin patch post. Yesterday when I checked my blog I could see all of them. I don't know how to fix it except to download them all again and repost. However, our precious Mac that has all my precious photos has been shut down for the week. The hubby is on vacation and his office redo is his priority for the next eight days so the computer got booted out along with everything else. However, I do have his work laptop that I can use for the week. Last night we had our first date night since I can't even remember when. While we were sipping our Pumpkin Spice Latte's at Starbucks he thanked me in advance for leaving him alone and letting him get some work done. Wasn't that sweet of him. I do plan on it because I want him to be finished with that office too. It has been along time coming if you know what I mean. Plus our new shower in our master bath is on hold until the office is complete. Here are a few before pictures. We will see how good of a wife I am this week and if I can live up to my man's sincere gratitiude. Check back in about a week for the after pictures. Once we get the Mac back up and running I can fix the pumpkin patch pictures. It will probably drive me crazy until then. Rodney is building new doors for his closet, painting, changing the design on his desk some, and mounting his monitors on the wall. He also wants to put new flooring in but I don't think he will get to that. We will see though. He is a pretty hard worker.

This afternoon Tobey and I decorated our pumpkins. We made a Jack-O-Lantern out of our big pumpkin. And then we colored on the smaller ones. He added some stickers to his. We also colored with chalk on the sidewalk. Is it just me or does anyone else feel the desire to be outside as much as possible right now. The weather is just great. Beautiful sunny days with nice cool breezes. What more could you ask for.

The Jack-O-Lantern was suppose to have three teeth but when I pulled the mouth part away the middle tooth came out. So now he is kind of scraggle-toothed or a little vampirish. I totally was not going for that effect.

Pumpkins Galore & Mimi too!

Yesterday, Tobey and I and his Mimi went to the Pumpkin Patch. It was the most gorgeous day ever! I went with great expectations of fabulous pictures but my boy would not cooperate. He was too busy running around and exploring so most of my pictures are of his backside. I did get a few great ones though. Interestingly enough there were actually two pumpkin patches side by side. One was the Pumpkin Village and the other was the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch. We pulled into the Pumpkin Village first thinking they were both connected. I mean they were right next to each other with only a fence separating the two. After we walked around the first one we decided to check the other side out. We really wanted a corny dog which I read about on the website and this side we were on did not have them. I asked this guy who was the cashier for the pumkins if they had food on the other side. Well he was a little put off and said he did not know what was going on over there. OOPS! So we made it to the Flower Mound Pumpkin Patch where we were informed that this was the "original" Pumpkin Patch that had been around for 16 years. It was all very strange. They were both great pumpkin patches but we were in search of corny dogs which we found at the "original" pumpkin patch. So these pictures are a mixture of the two pumpkin patches.

This was the only posed picture I got because I bribed him with juice. Oh, the depths a mommy will sink into for a good picture.

Running amidst the pumkins. Tobey was in awe.

This is one of my favorite pictures of the day. He looks so big!

Tobey loved hanging out with Mimi. It had been awhile since we had done something fun together with her.

Tobey picked out his own pumpkins. He needed one for school and a couple for the house. He picked his pumpkin out and carried it to our wagon and then went back for more.

Then he had to climb inside with the pumpkins. We were a little loaded down.

He was on the search for the perfect pumpkin!

And he found it!

Pumpkin House. I love how blue the sky is in this picture. It was the most beautiful autumn day!

A worn out boy. He sat in his Mimi's lap for almost two hours. She was loving it!
